Yes.  That is what will happen when the thyroid is removed and oral T4 (levothyroxine) is not taken.  The thyroid used to produce T4, which decreases the body’s TSH level.  Without a thyroid, T4 must be taken orally.  Everyday.  Or TSH will increase until you fall into a state of myxedema coma, which can be fatal.
