“I haven’t figured out what is so good about this good cancer.”

You’re Alive.
Most likely, you’ll die from something completely different and unrelated.
Most likely, your quality of life will not change.
THAT IS what it SO GOOD about it.
Will people ever stop feeling sorry for themselves?
I bet this ‘good cancer’ sentence was written by someone with a very treatable and survivable thyroid cancer. NOT by someone with a bad thyroid cancer.
It never changes.
Be strong fellow thyroid cancer survivors! Know that it is not (usually) that bad.
omg that is so funny. I am baffled by the good cancer angst. Apparently they never met anyone with one of the other truly heinous cancers. I thank my lucky stars every day that i got this one, and don’t feel a need to compete with the other cancers. I will concede happily.
Thank You for your positive attitude!!!
Hum well I feel like I’ve been hit by a train and my life has completely changed yes it is not as bad as other cancers it is easily treated but your life is changed by it
I have had a horrable time my aunt also had thyroid cancer and is also having a hard time adjusting so yes for some it is life changing
Why? Why do you feel ‘hit by a train’? Did you have parathyroid damage?
My emotional life was changed by a cancer diagnosis, as I think that kind of thing does to everyone. But most (not all) thyroid cancer is certainly nothing like other cancers. No chemo, quick cure, and very little impact on the physical well being.
You know the saying, birds of a feather, flock together, so I’m not surprised to read your claim that both you AND your aunt are having a hard time adjusting.
I suggest you get checked for hypoparathyroidism.
